Privacy policy
Effective 2026-11-08 · The Terrible Towel Line
The short version
The Terrible Towel Line doesn’t ask you to sign up, doesn’t set cookies and doesn’t run advertising trackers. We count visits without knowing who you are, and the only personal details we ever get are the ones you type into the contact form.
Counting visits
We count page views, how far down a page people read, and clicks out to Novig, to learn which pages are useful. The count goes to PostHog, our analytics provider, with the page address, the page that sent you here and a random id that lives in your browser tab and is forgotten when you close it. No cookies are set, no profile is built and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
The contact form
A message you send through the contact form goes to the editors, with the email address if you give one and the page you were reading. We use it to answer you and fix what you point out, and for nothing else.
Links to Novig and other sites
The Terrible Towel Line may earn a commission when you open an account through one of our links. Those links carry the site’s promo code and the spot on the page you clicked, so the sign-up can be credited to us; they don’t carry anything about you. Once you leave this site, the other site’s own privacy policy applies.
The Sharp
The Sharp, our play-money picks game, keeps a sign-in and your picks under an account. Its own privacy policy covers that.
Server logs
Like any website, our host keeps short-lived request logs (addresses and browser details) to run the site and stop abuse. We don’t use them to identify readers.
Age
The Terrible Towel Line is written for adults. Prediction markets and sportsbooks are for people 21 and over.
Questions and changes
Ask us anything about this policy through the contact form. If it changes, the effective date above changes with it.
